To celebrate the arrival of spring, the Friends of the Biodôme are inviting you to a unique sugaring-off party! The program will feature traditional music, tasting of maple products and a guided tour of the Érablière des Laurentides sugarbush. You will enjoy exclusive activities! So put on your best plaid shirt and join the party!
Often hidden high up among tree branches, sloths rarely make themselves seen. What does it do so far up? How does it manage to eat despite moving so slowly? And, especially, is the sloth really as lazy as people think? Martin Duquette, a Biodôme animal care technicien will tell you everything there is to know about this mysterious animal!
During the month of February, at the end of the day, you are invited on a unique sensory journey! Enjoy the Biodôme in a different way by listening to playlists specifically chosen for each ecosystem. Immerse yourselves in the wonderful sounds associated with each habitat. Don’t miss this unique experience!
In the past several years, the Biodôme has witnessed several amazing events, namely the birth of animals. In May 2022, three lynxes were born in Montréal. More recently, in February, we were pleasantly surprised by a penguin birth! How do our veterinarians manage reproduction and births? What measures do animal care technicians take to accommodate the new arrivals and make them feel at home?
Emiko Wong, Biodôme researcher, will tell you everything you need to know about the subject!
In 2022, the Biodôme celebrated its 30th anniversary. This means that for more than three decades, the Biodôme has been a uniting force between humans and nature right in the heart of Montréal. We happily continue to open our doors so you can discover (and rediscover) the Biodôme’s five ecosystems. But who has kept this exceptional place up and running for over 30 years? Who are these professionals and what are their occupations at the Biodôme?
Nicolas Gruyer, Director of the Biodôme, will be on hand to answer these questions and more!
The holiday season is coming to the Biodôme! Come celebrate with the Friends and make gifts for the animals. Tap into your creative side to decorate gift boxes that will be filled with surprises for the animals. You can then watch them open these gifts right there! This is the perfect activity to get you into the Christmas spirit… in magical Biodôme style!
